Let's see how old you are. Age should not be calculated in years, for rather than being a span of time, I feel it is a state of mind. For a moment, indulge what little romanticism time and circumstance has left you and remember "that summer". Each of us has had "that summer”… that wonderful few weeks when life was full and we were young and in love. If you close your eyes and remember, perhaps you can feel again the warmth and wonder of "that summer", recalling still times beside moon bathed waters… walks through summers brightest places where robins sing and small animals chatter… the first rays of the morning sun breaking in the eastern sky… the gentle yawns of your gentler love, who will not break away till dawn ushers in another day… a familiar refrain, half sung, half hummed and always to be remembered… dim candle-lit cafés with crisp checkered cloth and the smell of fresh bread and good coffee… tender moments enfolded in strong arms, with gentle apprehensive fingers brushing lightly over cologne-scented hair… the din and downpour at the summer fair… the quiet time beside the moving river… the warm kiss that was like no other kiss had ever been… like no other kiss will ever be, eyes misty with the tears of parting, a heart run wild because "that someone" is coming up the walk, the completeness that happened only once… "that summer". These are the healthy young times to be remembered and safely guarded in the inner places of the heart. If these vintage times are still remembered… "that summer" is still vivid in your memory, then you are not old,,, you will never be old.
