When a married man takes out his wife, it is often with a sense of obligation. Mommy has been cooped up with the kids for weeks… guess I better take her to dinner and dancing. So dining and dancing you go and what do you talk about… the gas bill… Johnny's new shoes… the cost of your grocery order that afternoon… the trouble you’ve been having with the new fellow at the office… the fact that your milk man left the wrong change this morning… you worry about the babysitter… in other words you go out to escape all the work-a-day problems you've both had – yet take them all along with you. This indicates very good parents… parents who are concerned with the workings of their home… the upbringing of their family… BUT… never forget that YOU are a woman as well as a homemaker, and that your husband is a MAN as well as a breadwinner… and when pop dates you ACT like a date, instead of a wife, and remind your husband that for the evening, you're not in the least concerned with his office problems, or family worries. If you can go out for an evening and escape every trace of the drudgery of your day today problems… if for a few hours the two of you can become just a guy and a girl having fun on a date, then when the gray dawn breaks on the following day, you're going to face your routine days ahead with a much happier outlook. Try it, the next time you and your hubby go out together. I know you'll have a lot more fun.
